The Welsh Dragon (Welsh: Y Ddraig Goch "the red dragon") appears on the national flag of Wales. Use of the dragon to symbolise Wales dates back to around 820AD, but it is popularly supposed to have been the battle standard of King Arthur and other ancient Celtic leaders. In stories concerning the battle of the red and the white dragon, the white dragon symbolises the Saxons who were eventually fought off by the red dragon — the people whom the Saxons failed to subdue and who became the Welsh.

In heraldry, the dragon symbolises nobility and courage and may also indicate power and wealth.

Cotton paper is superior in both strength and durability to wood pulp-based paper. Modern gel ink pens are an ideal match for cotton fibre paper. Cotton fibre paper has been known to last hundreds of years without appreciable fading, discolouration, or deterioration. An ideal rustic journal that could last for generations.
