Glass eyes with borders of ancient runes or fantasy scripts, stitches,
hinges and clasps.
A4+ - 544 pages. Black leather cut and resewn with
thonging. Oxford hollow back, red headbands, four tapes, reinforced
board cover. French joint ensures easy opening. Four coiled gold
snakes - one in each outside corner - two gold snakes on silver
slab running down side. Four silver fingers on spine. Gold claw
with silver nails on back forms part of hinged clasp - Celtic knot
work domino on side, Egyptian-bead style oval on front set with
amber - attaches to front with stud. Oval on clasp encircles blue
glass eye. Parchment inside, sewn in French style with four reinforcing
ribbons. Blue marble endpapers.
